This site provides an overview of what is available to Slicers (soooo much more fun than simply “employees”) and their families. It touches on everything from time off and health insurance to charitable events and endless pizza — just some of the ingredients for maintaining a strong well being.

BENEFITS
AT SLICE

MEDICAL

Full-time Slicers can enroll in an AXA Healthcare scheme. Our cover is a Medical History Disregarded (MHD) scheme where existing conditions are included in the cover (some exceptions apply). The scheme period runs from the 31st of March to the 30th of March each year. Please note some cover has an excess up to £250 per scheme period.

DOCTOR CARE ANYWHERE

AXA also provides a smart, easy way to manage your health through Doctor Care Anywhere. You can speak via video to a doctor anytime, anywhere. You will have access to 20 minute appointments available 24/7, all year around. You can have up to 5 sessions within 12 months.

DENTAL AND OPTICAL

Slicers can receive cash back for dental and optical needs. Slice covers 80% of dental fees up to £400 a year. We also cover 80% of the cost of prescribed glasses and contacts, up to £200 a year. Slicers are also reimbursed up to £25 a year for eye tests.

HEALTHSHIELD CASH PLAN

This cash plan helps cover routine healthcare expenses. For eligible expenses, Slicers are reimbursed up to the limit on the policy.

HOLIDAYS

Vacation? Appointment? Pizza party? We can all use time off to recharge or take care of things outside of work. We offer Slicers 28 days annual leave on top of 11 public holidays.

WIN TOGETHER —

ENHANCED PARENTAL LEAVE

Kids love pizza. Pizza loves kids. Paid maternity and paternity leave is available for births and adoptions alike. Slice offers 24 weeks of full paid maternity leave and 4 weeks of full paid paternity leave.

PENSION

Slice offers its employee pension scheme with Scottish Widows. You will be automatically enrolled on your first day of employment. If you do not want to save into the scheme you can opt out. You must contribute at least 5% for Slice to contribute 4%, making the minimum 9%.

GROUP LIFE SCHEME

In the unfortunate event of your death while an employee of Slice, a lump sum of 3 times your basic annual salary may be paid out.

GROUP INCOME PROTECTION

Group Income Protection is designed to provide an income for you in the event of a long term absence from work due to illness or injury. Slice offers the first month at full pay and the second month at ½ pay. You can then be put onto Statutory Sick Pay up to week 13 when you will then be eligible for our group income protection plan which is 50% of your salary until state pension age. This covers you within a 12 month rolling period. You cannot use this cover more than once in a 12 month period from when your first claim begins.

We invest in our team’s health. Slicers can save 5% on monthly, no-contract memberships, and 10% on annual memberships at PureGym. Slicers can also enjoy a 40% discount on Nuffield Health or Hussle gym memberships through AXA. Other gym discounts are also available.

MENTAL HEALTH

Slice has partnered with Healthshield to offer an Employee Assistance Program that provides a support helpline with qualified counsellors ready to listen, offer practical information, and provide emotional support. The program also includes up to eight sessions (face-to-face or via video) to support your mental well-being where deemed appropriate.

Our teams work seamlessly with each other regardless of whether they are in one of our five global offices or at a home desk. Managers have flexibility to determine the WFH policy for their teams with most Slicers working a hybrid model.

INVESTED IN YOU

We love that Slicers bring their whole selves to work each day and are invested in keeping that going! Each UK Slicer is reimbursed up to £200/year for well-being. Additional professional development funds are also available on a department basis.

Invite your friends to apply for roles at Slice! If it all works out and they are hired, you’ll have plenty to celebrate about. Slicers receive up to £7500 for any referrals that are hired.

WOMEN IN BUSINESS

Slice is a member of Women in Business NI, which allows every Slicer the opportunity to attend networking events/webinars/conferences and to access their center of learning. These programmes are designed specifically to provide members with the opportunity to advance their skills through leadership, communication, and resilience.

BRING IDEAS TO LIFE

You didn’t think we were just about pizza, did you? We host four hackathons a year when teams from across the company stop their day-to-day work to work on innovative passion products. And yes, there will be swag.

PIZZA HAS PERKS

Innovating on behalf of the pizza industry requires an intimate knowledge of pizza. Slicers receive discounts at several local pizzerias.

Win some. Give some. We have a number of fun recognition programs to highlight the excellent work being done across the globe. Some even include cash prizes and chocolates (You thought we’d say pizza, right?).

GET ON YOUR BIKES AND RIDE

Slice participates in Cyclescheme, which provides tax-free bikes for the Government’s Cycle to Work scheme. It enables employees to pick a new bike and accessories tax free — saving 25-39% — and spread out the cost through an agreed amount of time. There are many participating retailers including McConvey Cycles, Chain Reaction Cycles, and Decathlon to name a few. Slice also offers a Tech scheme that enables employees to save on purchases from either Curry’s or Ikea, spreading the cost over 12 months (tax-free, saving 25-39%), with a limit of up to £2,500.
